David Trickey is a Consultant Clinical Child Psychologist, chartered by the British Psychological Society and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
He acts as an expert advisor to police and as an expert witness approximately 10 times each year in civil and criminal cases, particularly in the areas of trauma, bereavement and child testimony. He has extensive experience of working with children who have witnessed one parent killing another.
He has many years of clinical experience working with children and families and has developed specialist skills in working with trauma and traumatic bereavement. He has successfully managed a child psychology service and has undertaken further training in assessments of parenting, assessments of attachment, family therapy and eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR). In addition to direct work with children and families, he offers consultation and supervision to other professionals, provides teaching and training for various professional groups, has presented at national and international conferences including a number of keynote addresses, and he supervises doctoral research.
