I believe that every child and young person has the right to safety, healing, and hope – regardless of the various characteristics that intersect to form their identity.
And I believe that every adult working with traumatised children and young people has the right to receive good training and supervision, regardless of how they process information or learn.
I know that discrimination can be traumatic.
I am committed to being inclusive and equitable. This means I will actively work to identify and challenge discrimination in my practice, my ways of thinking, and the systems I use. I realise this requires humility, learning, and action – not just good intentions.
I aim to:
I know I won’t always get it right. But I will listen, learn, and keep working towards justice and equity—for all children and young people. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any concerns about how I’m living up to these commitments, or if you’d like to know more about the actions that I’m taking.
